Where science
meets doing.
A multi-level course that turns the science you love into what you actually do in the studio — taught by Jessica Luffey, CSOM, MM.
Knowing the science is not the same as knowing what to do at 4pm on a Tuesday with a real student.
You know the science. Now what?
You've done the reading. The workshops, the conference sessions, the pedagogy courses. You can explain formants, registration, and breath mechanics with the best of them.
Then a student walks in with a breathy top, a jaw that won't release, and a plateau that hasn't budged in a year — and the textbook goes quiet.
The problem with traditional vocal ped? It's all what works — and almost nothing on how to get your students to fix it.
The gap was never knowledge. It's application. That's what Practical Pedagogy is for.
Application, not another lecture.
Every level is built around one question: what does this look like in your studio, with your students, this week?
See what's actually happening
Functional assessment for the voice studio: read tension, breathiness, and stubborn plateaus through the lens of anatomy and oral function — not guesswork.
Teach the way the brain learns
Motor learning and neuroplasticity, translated into lesson planning: how skills are actually encoded, practiced, and made automatic — and how to structure lessons around it.
Train the body behind the voice
The tongue, breath, posture, and orofacial function that sit underneath every sound your student makes — and what to do when the instrument itself is the obstacle.
Know your lane — and your referrals
Recognize when a student needs more than technique: myofunctional red flags, when to refer, and how to have that conversation with confidence.

Not like a webinar.
A multi-level journey for teachers who want mastery, not a certificate of attendance.

Jessica Luffey
Jessica has spent over a decade at the intersection most practitioners never reach: she is a professional operatic soprano and a certified myofunctional specialist, working with singers, tongue ties, and vocal rehabilitation across 18+ countries.
She's trained with the field's leading experts, lectures for voice teacher organizations and universities, and is actively researching the effects of tongue ties on singers. Practical Pedagogy is the course she built for the teachers who kept asking her the same question: "Okay — but what do I actually do?"
